God kisses us every day with His wonders. We experience His wonders as we look all around at the beauty that He made in nature. Most of us are blessed with the ability to see these wonders, to hear the sounds of the birds singing or to be able to smell the fragrances of flowers. Most of us are blessed by having family or friends in our lives to enjoy and experience these gifts with.
The Bible is a treasure. Everything that we see, hear, smell and experience here will one day end, but there is something that will live on after death, and that is God's Word. His Word is eternal. His promises stand forever and never die. According to 1st Peter 1:25...the Word of the LORD endures forever.
Psalm 19:9b-10 says...the decrees of the LORD are firm and all of them are righteous. They are more precious than gold; than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb.
I like how this verse is paraphrased in TPT. It says, "The rarest treasures in life are found in His truth. That's why I prize God's word like others prize the finest gold. Nothing brings the soul such sweetness as seeking His living words." Jesus said in Matthew 6:21, "Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
As our spiritual eyes are opened up by Holy Spirit to understand truth, He also empowers us to live it out and we become more loving, like God Himself. Having a heart understanding of this love makes us the wealthiest of people. The Bible talks about how we have great and precious promises and that through them we participate in the divine nature.
Through these He has given us His precious and magnificent promises so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, now that you have escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires (2nd Peter 1:4).
The stuff of this earth will eventually pass away. All of it! It will decay and wear away with time. All of the material things that we accumulated over time will be gone as well. The good news is that there is something that will never end! Jesus said, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away" (Matthew 24:35).
God's kisses from heaven given to us are His kisses of love. They are meant to be given away and as they are, the more we will see. In the end we will bring nothing with us, except the hearts that we kissed with His love.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You that Your promises never die but live on forever. Please help me to cherish Your Word as the valuable jewel
that it is. In Jesus' name, Amen.
